You are now on to Step 3 of the Self Publishing Wizard. Your book information has been entered and your book files uploaded. Now it is time to design your cover layout.
STEP 3: COVER LAYOUT
Select Author picture or image
This step is optional. Browse your files and select a jpeg picture or image that can be uploaded. This image will be printed on back cover of the book. It is a great way to add interest to the book. Please make sure that the image is the highest quality possible (preferably 300 dpi or higher).
Front Cover Image
The UniBook Self Publishing Wizard gives you three choices for your cover art:
1. If you have your own cover art, enter the file location from your computer and upload it as a JPEG file. Please make sure that it is the highest quality possible (300 dpi or higher). The image should be the same size as your book i.e., if your book size is 6"x9", your cover art needs to be 6"x9". If not, our software will resize it automatically, which sometimes will distort the image. In the last step of the wizard, you will receive a preview of your cover, and you still have the chance to make changes. If you do not have your own cover art to upload
IMPORTANT: When creating your own cover image, please be sure to have all text and images approximately 1/4" to 1/2" away from the edge of the file. This will keep your cover from having text and/or images trimmed off during production.
2. No cover art. Select no cover art.
3. No cover art. Choose from one of the online UniBook cover art images.
Choose A Background Color
This color becomes the background color of your back cover. Choose a color that compliments your front cover.
Dust Cover
Select Hardcover or Paperback
Dustcover layout
This applies only if you choose the hardcover option.
Letter Color
This is the color in which your author bio and book description will appear on the back cover. This text is placed on top of the "background color" you selected earlier. Be sure to choose a letter color that stands out against your background color.
