Sung Seng Nim: A tale of two facesMarkus Heinrich RehbachShort descriptionYou have been invited to teach in South Korea. You have received a formal, written contract after several weeks of negotiation. Your employer ensures you he already has an apartment waiting for you. He agrees to pay for your airfares within one week of your arrival. He agrees to arrange and to pay for all working visas. Surely you can trust him? As everyone later tells you, ´he is an honest man`. And the recruiter is a real nice guy. Right? Surely the police will not stand by as your employer destroys the massive steel security door of your apartment, steals your valuables, and leaves you homeless, with no passport or money? The police and labor office will investigate these actions, which they have agreed are criminal. Right? You can trust the Chief inspector of Police. You are, after all, staying with his family. Or? At times you may find this story hard to believe, but it is a true story, written as it happened.
